Q1: How long in advance do I need to place a booking?
A1: Minimum booking time is 1 week, provided the date is still available. However, we strongly advise couples to book as early as possible to avoid the "fully booked dates". As a rule of thumb, we would suggest about 3 months for church weddings and up to a year for Chinese Banquets or Premium Packages. The number of persons, menu and other details can be finalized 1 week to the wedding date.
Q2: Why is the Church Wedding Package valid for weddings held in churches only?
A2: The church wedding package is tailor-made for a basic reception after the service in a church premise. As such, the package was drawn up with the costing and logistics of a catering at a church in mind.
Q3: If we do not meet the minimum booking of 100 persons for church wedding, is the package still applicable?

A3: Yes, it would still be applicable for booking of at least 80 persons. To enjoy the package deal, a surcharge of $2.00 per person is applicable.

Q4: Is the reward items for booking above $3500.00 sales value exchangeable for monetary value?
A4: No. However, you may inquire with the salesperson on the full list of reward items.
Q5. Is Kriston's food Halal?
A5 Yes, we are Halal certified.
Q6. Is the deposit refundable if I decide later to cancel the booking due to unforeseen circumstances?
A6 Deposits made are non-refundable, however, it is transferable to a third party or it can be used for other types of catering (eg. house parties or corporate functions etc). Validity is 6 months from the original date of intended catering.
Q7. What is the difference between a Cocktail Menu & a Buffet Menu?
Can we change items from Cocktail Menu to Buffet Menu or vice versa?
A7. The cocktail menus will feature mainly finger-food with a noodles item to substantiate the menu. It is meant for receptions in the morning and afternoon. The buffet menus would consist of main course dishes with both rice and noodle items in the menu. These menus are more suitable for lunch or dinner receptions.

Kriston's menus are planned after careful consideration to ensure an interesting balance in different food groups as well as the style of cooking. Thus, we would suggest minimum menu changes to be made and also discourage mixing items from cocktail and buffet menus. You may consult your salesperson for further advice on menu changes.
Q8. How much should we order to prevent food wastages?
A8. As a rule of thumb, Kriston provides a 10% buffer of food on top of what is confirmed. This buffer is to cater for guests with bigger appetites or the few extra guests that turn-up unexpectedly. For most standing receptions, it is acceptable to under-cater by 10%-15%. You are advised not to under-cater for sit-down buffets as your guest will tend to eat more when seated at a dining table. However, you have to bear in mind that the risk of under-catering is the embarrassment of food running out too soon during the reception.
Q9. Why is there a catering fee imposed for Premium Package?
A9. The Premium Package was developed as a comprehensive package that would include all the necessary resources and equipment required for an elegant reception. These includes proper china crockery, cutlery, glassware, tables, table linen, chairs, chair covers, overlay, napkins, fresh flowers, uniformed staff etc. Instead of charging all the miscellaneous costs separately, we have bundled it up into a nice package for easy reference.
Q10. Are there any hidden charges other than the menu price & catering fee?
A10. For all our packages, the cost involved is transparent. Besides the food cost and catering fee, there is only a 5%GST charge on the total bill. However, there may be other optional charges such as for bar setup charge or additional fresh floral arrangement and etc.
